Interested in a greeting card program that has quality beautiful graphics for you to use in your greeting cards? And would you like to create envelopes and return mailing labels that have graphic designs that coordinate with the cards you make? You can with Print Shop Signature Greetings, and you can also send cards online.

The installation on my Pentium 75 computer went smoothly. There is a warning on the box that the program may require minor adjustments to the configuration of your operating system, but none were necessary. There is a 90 day money back guarantee if you are not satisfied with the program. This is a very nice greeting card program. It can be used for creating greeting cards, note cards, mailing labels, envelopes, postcards, and sending online greeting cards. It is not for creating banners or newsletters. There are 5,000 greeting cards that can be customized.

When you start Signature Greetings, a Select a Project window appears. You can select Greeting Cards, Labels, Online Greetings, Address Book , and Envelopes projects. When you select Greeting Cards as the project, the next window allows you to select a theme like Birthdays, Holidays, Friendship, Events and Thanks, and Encouragement (which includes subthemes like Get well, Good luck, Sympathy, and nspiration). There are many very lovely graphics, which include fine art and contemporary art, photos, and cartoons, to use to create greeting and note cards. The images are the art of Marcel Schurman Design. You can not delete the artist’s credit which appears on the back of every greeting card. You can move the credit to the bottom of the back page and personalize the card with a message either above or below it. You can delete the Print Shop Logo, if you wish, that appears on the back page. An image can be selected only for the front page of the card. Graphics from other programs can not be imported. Graphics from this program can not be exported to other programs.

Photo Frames can be selected for the front of the greeting card, and photos can be imported into them. The program contains many attractive frames that can be selected. I chose a lovely birthday photo frame and imported a photo that I had on a diskette and made a very nice card. After selecting an image for the greeting card, you can personalize the card by adding text to it. You can add text to pages 1,3, and 4 of the card. A Verse Library is included in the program with 2,000 verses, and I found many that I liked and used. One feature I especially liked was being able to create coordinated envelopes for the greeting cards and notes I made. After you have finished creating your card and have it in your Personalize Your Greeting Card window, you can click the Coordinated Sets icon and then select the envelope option. You then see the envelope displayed with part of the same graphic used in the Greeting Card you made. Fill in the address information by selecting the address text and clicking the “Write a Message” icon to edit it. Fill in the return address information. Once through with putting in the address information , you can preview the envelope with the graphic and address, and OK it and print the envelope. The birthday card I had made with birthday photo frame had an envelope with a matching graphic from the birthday frame. The graphic is small and attractive, and placed to the left of the address on the envelope. You can also create coordinated mailing labels.

The directions for printing envelopes in the manual that comes with the program were not very clear. I had to experiment with a few printer settings before the envelope printed correctly. After selecting Print (envelope), select Setup. I have an HP DeskJet 820CSE color printer. For my printer, I selected right and top settings and went into Options and selected Rotate Envelope Always. Once I selected these settings, the envelope came out beautifully. Until I discovered the Rotate Envelope Always option, my envelopes were being printed upside down.

Sending cards online is another feature of the program. But you can not select from all the graphics the program has. You are limited to a relatively few images that have been made available for Online Greetings Projects. A few photo frames can be selected, and photos can be imported for them. An Address Book is included and information in it can be used to print Envelopes and Labels. The Address Book is one of the Projects on the Select A Project window.

The Print Shop Signature Greetings comes with a User’s Book and a Graphics Reference Book. The graphics are in color and arranged by themes and sub-themes. Section 2 of the book shows the fonts that can be used in the program.
