Business Lawyer for Windows 3.1 and higher, by E-Z Legal, installs automatically in 95 or NT from the CD-ROM ( 3.5 " diskettes included ). Re-installing or uninstalling is not reliable. Extra features include sending the filled-out forms as email file attachments for other Business Lawyer users, outputting to rich text format documents in your word processor, and variable sets for automatic entry of data into forms.
There are 301 business forms to choose from, divided into categories like credit, leases, loans, agreements and real estate. I found that maximizing the window leaves a gray margin that cannot be avoided, making reading the document inconvenient in a large window. Automatic filling in of forms with the 3 variable sets did not work on either Windows 95 or NT. After inputting variables manually, or leaving them blank, press the "Done" button and the file will be saved and your choice of word processor can then be used to touch up the document, changing fonts, colors and embedding other documents. You may need to edit the file associations for rich text format files if you want to output to your regular word processor instead of the included EZ file editor, which does word-wraps incorrectly.
Another bug is the status bar for the form selector menu shows the description of the form preceding the currently selected one. Very annoying. Not being a legal expert, it is difficult to say if there is a comprehensive collection of forms, but it is educational at least to inspect of the multiplicity of standard forms. However, there are tons of .PDF or HTML legal forms available on the internet, such as through Entrepreneur Magazine's homepage.
